Semuliki National Park is situated in the western arm of the East African Rift Valley. It lies on the border of Uganda and the Democratic Republic of Congo in Western Uganda. The park has tropical lowland rainforest which is an extension of the Ituri forest of Congo. It is home to the spectacular Sempaya hot springs and the Batwa pygmies that came from the Ituri forest. With about 441 bird species, Semuliki National Park is also a favorable birding destination. It also has a rich ecosystem with diversified habitats where its 53 mammal species move freely.
