Day 1: Kampala – Queen Elizabeth National Park

Begin your trip as early as 6:00 am (local time) in the morning from Kampala and head to Queen Elizabeth national park overlooking the foothills of Mountain Rwenzori. It is approximately 7hrs drive – 417km to get to Queen Elizabeth national park.

A stopover at the Uganda Equator will offer you an opportunity to appreciate nature as you participate in an experiment to ascertain the intersection of the sphere’s surface.  Proceed to Mbarara town for your lunch – the local dishes can suffice. Traverse the crater lakes region, notably Lake Rutoto, shaped like the map of Africa; the tea plantations notwithstanding and finally the rift valley escarpment overlooking the Rwenzori Mountains and the lakes George and Edward with the Kazinga Channel, are but a big spectacle! Day 2: Game viewing and launch cruise

After an early morning cup of tea, begin your game drive towards the Kasenyi track. The northern sector of the park (Kasenyi) has the highest concentration of wildlife including Uganda kobs, waterbucks, topis, elephants, buffaloes, warthogs, lions and a variety of savanna related birds. Rise up early, take breakfast thereafter head for a game view to Kasenyi. Later return to the lodge for lunch as you prepare for an afternoon launch cruise. The afternoon launch cruise is a big highlight as you seize an opportunity to interface with most mammals in the park including four of the big five – elephants, buffaloes, lions, and leopards; others include hippos, waterbucks, warthogs, etc; and birds in this park over 619 species ranking Queen Elizabeth national park the second-highest of any park in Africa – the 6th highest of any park in the world. The Kazinga Channel is the birders’ haven! Day 3: Queen Elizabeth-Kibale Forests

This morning ready for guided nature walk to the Maramagambo forest for a visit to the bats and pythons cave and the hunters’ cave. Thereafter be transferred to Kibale Forest National park. The afternoon take a guided nature walk to Bigodi swamp sanctuary, a good site for ornithologists. The Great Blue Turaco and Papyrus Gonolek can easily be marked among the other bird 137 species plus an array of butterfly species. Day 4: Chimpanzee tracking in Kibale

After your morning breakfast, our tour guide will lead you to Kanyanchu park headquarters for briefing from the senior park ranger. At 8:00 am you will join the rest of other trackers and transfer to the starting point which is 2 Km away from the park headquarters. Most often chimpanzee tracking goes for 3 to 4 hours. While in the forest you will interface with primates including the golden monkey, L’Hoest monkey, baboons, white and black Colobus monkeys, grey checked mangabey, red Colobus, blue monkeys and pottos. Other animals involve forest elephants unique from the common type, giant forest hogs and a striking tree species. Later you may enjoy your lunch at Chimps Nest Lodge before embarking on a Crater tour around Ndali for outstanding views. Day 5: Kibale-Kampala/Entebbe

After enjoying breakfast transfer back to Kampala, en route a visit to the “supernatural tree – the Nakayima” will introduce you to the cultural aspects and traditional beliefs of the Baganda people. Arrive in Kampala in the evening. If this days coincides with the Ndere Cultural troupe, this would be an exciting moment to enjoy.
