Day 1:  Kampala – Bwindi

4 Days Bwindi Gorilla & Lake Bunyonyi


Depart from Kampala at 7:00 am and head towards southwestern Uganda for gorilla safari tours. A brief stop at the Equator allows time for photographs and refreshments as well as a visit to the craft shops. The journey affords views from the vehicle of the long horned Ankole cattle, in Mbarara, the rolling hills, terraced landscapes and the beautiful panorama of Kabale. We have a lunch break en route in Mbarara with an option of visiting the Igongo cultural center to experience the Ankole culture. Continue to Bwindi Impenetrable Park and arrive late evening. Day 2: Bwindi gorilla safari tours trekking

After breakfast and briefing by park ranger guides, depart with picnic lunch boxes to start a 30 minutes – 8 hours trek to find the Mountain gorillas as you hike up and down slippery slopes with dense mist covered vegetation. This strenuous quest will eventually bring you to the face of one of the most sought after creatures-the mountain gorilla. After a full hour with them while observing and learning their behavior as you take photos. Time permitting in the afternoon ready for a village foot safari to meet and interact with the local communities that live around Bwindi Forest. Day 3: Bwindi- Lake Bunyonyi

After having that encounter with the mountain gorillas, say farewell to the impenetrable forest and head to Lake Bunyonyi. Lake Bunyonyi is another major tourist stopover that is undeniably amazing. The word Bunyonyi means “small birds” in direct translation which means that the lake is a must stopover for committed birders and besides that its serpentine shape and numerous islands are yet other highlights one must look out for. Afternoon is dedicated for a canoe ride, check out several islands like Bwama Island good for birders or you could take a nature walk helping you to appreciate a variety of small birds. You are likely to be fascinated by the scenery of this 2nd deepest lake in Africa. Day 4: Lake Bunyonyi- Kampala/Entebbe

Take breakfast with an ample guided nature walk in preparations to return back to Kampala through Kabale and later to Mbarara for a lunch stop. You also have a chance to explore the Ankole culture at Igongo Cultural center before proceeding to reach Kampala in the evening for a transfer to Entebbe for your departure flight.
