It’s advisable to carry on the game drive in the morning and late hours of the afternoon, during this time you can see the predators of the night out such as Lions, Leopards, Hyenas, and Several cats. Game drives are fun and relieving.

BOAT CRUISE
The boat cruise also called the launch trip begins at a point where the river Nile enters Lake Albert and takes you to the bottom of the falls. The bottom of the falls boat cruise in Murchison falls it’s a breath-taking moment that will get your nerves at ease, at this moment you will feel inner excitement that will feel you with happiness. You will get an opportunity to see schools of hippos floating on water, a couple of oribis, warthogs, water birds and crocodiles.

BIRDING AT MURCHISON FALLS NATIONAL PARK
Murchison Falls National Park is among the best birding destinations in Uganda, the park harbors over 451 bird species. Viewing birds in the scenic Landscape is the most relaxing experience While on a Uganda Safari in Murchison Falls National Park.
There quite a number of birds in the park some known to everyone, some rare and others Are Occasionally known to a few people especially Birders. Some of the birds in the park include: Gray Crowned Crane, Giant Kingfisher, Giant Heron, Shoebill stork, Abyssinian Ground Hornbills, Nightjars, Marabou stork, Black-headed Lapwing, Martial Eagle, Silver bird, Giant Heron, Back – bellied Bustard among others.
Birds can well be spotted in Murchison falls while on a Game Drive. The best time to watch birds in Uganda is during the dry season, that is from January to March, this period in Uganda is a low tourist season. Some migratory birds can be seen between months of November and April. Don’t leave Murchison falls national park without spotting the Shoebill stork which is the parks most outstanding Attraction for Birders.
Birding can be done from a vehicle or on a nature walk along the Nile.
TOP OF THE FALLS HIKE – MURCHISON FALLS.
Hiking to the top of the falls can be a two in one activity, this can be done through taking a boat cruise to the bottom of the falls. The top of the falls hike can take up to 45 minutes. While on top of the falls you will experience the ground shake as you watch the water forces itself through the gorge from the above, as you enjoy the freshness of the cool mist from the fall. At this moment you will also come into sight with another falls called UHURU FALLS that is at a distance. This is the point of taking great pictures of the falls and experiential picture full of memories.
Just Like Gorilla Trekking safaris, with the Hike too You need to gear up with nice hill-climbing sneakers. For comfortable climbing, and I believe its right too, to wear light clothes because hiking is a bit tiresome an activity.
MURCHISON FALLS – SCENIC DRIVE
Murchison falls scenic drive is different from the normal game drives it takes longer. It is a route taken along lake Albert and the Western Rift Valley Escarpment. This gives a vivid experience of the bumpy, dirtier and dustier African kind of a Village road. Get a stroll to the sandy beaches and Fishing Villages.
You will get an opportunity to visit Butiaba town, which was once a thriving town with Port Masindi along Lake Kyoga. Butiaba was also an important Marine port and tourist site. Here You will find a shipwreck od the S.S. Robert Corryndon, a steamship.
CHIMPANZEE TRACKING IN BUDONGO FOREST – MURCHISON FALLS NATIONAL PARK – UGANDA SAFARI
Chimpanzee tracking in Uganda – Murchison Falls is done in Budongo Forest which is the largest natural rainforest in the whole of East Africa.
In Budongo forest, the chimpanzee area managed by the Jane Goodall institute for research. Trekking of Chimpanzees can be done here twice a day in the morning and in the afternoon but habituation of chimpanzees can only be done in the low season.
The chimpanzee trekking is a 3 hours activity it’s a fun activity, where very many tourists, take various pictures and enjoy the trails with the Forests. Tourists can also do bird viewing while in the forest tracking Chimpanzees.
Chimpanzee Tracking Permit
These Chimpanzee tracking Permits are issued only and only by the Uganda Wildlife Authority. Only 16 permits are issued on a daily basis, with 8 chimpanzee tracking permits for each session. Permits in Budongo are still sold at $90 per day per person.
This Tracking can only be done by people above 15 Years of Age. Below this the child is not eligible for Chimpanzee tracking.
