On 9th October, 1962 Uganda became an Independent Nation from Britain, this is the day it celebrated its first Independence. From this day Uganda garnered very many achievements. This was followed by Kiprotich Stephen winning an Olympic Gold medal on 12 August, 2012 under the Olympic Marathon in London, Giving Uganda there second ever Olympic Gold Medal after John Akii Abua,

Subsequently a lot happened after those events, but the source of the Nile Bridge can’t be left out that was commissioned in October 17, 2018 – by President Museveni, has been described as a tourist, destination of beauty, its an architectural masterpiece which is the second of its kind after Tanzania’s long Kigamboni Bridge. This Year 2019, following the independence Week – Uganda at 57, For the first time, Uganda has won two gold medals at the IAAF – International Association of Athletics Federation championships held in Doha, Qatar. This glory is only to a magnanimous performance of Joshua Cheptegei and Nakaayi Halimah. These two have held Uganda’s Flag high making Uganda a comfortable destination to all. There is talent in Uganda that needs mining, this also adds to the saying “Uganda is a Pearl of Africa.”

Joshua Cheptegei who ran at a rate of about 0.4 km in 1 minute to cover 10 Km won a gold medal at IAAF championships in Doha, With Nakaayi Halimah winning the women’s 800m   also won a gold Medal.

Following the same victory Uganda again continued to manifest as the Pearl of Africa, when two children Ezekiel, 11-year-old and 14 – year old Esther Emerged the first winners of East Africa’s Got Talent which was held in Nairobi Kenya who came home with US$50,000 Grand Prize.
