NOW YOU CAN GET A DWARF NUBIAN GIRAFFE ON A UGANDA WILDLIFE SAFARI TOURS

Murchison falls never stops to amaze us we are yet to call it a place of wonders. This very week within Uganda’s Wildlife largest park a new kind of Giraffe was discovered, the Dwarf Nubian Giraffe. This is a great add to our Uganda wildlife Safari Tours. Giraffes are known to be the tallest animals in the whole world about six meters tall, but amazingly the Dwarf Nubian Giraffe is just 6ft that is 2 meters tall.

When were they first discovered?

A researcher with the Giraffe Conservation Foundation named brown, him and his friends were conducting population studies in Murchison Falls in Uganda on a Uganda wildlife Safari tours, when while taking photographs of giraffes came across the Dwarf Nubian Giraffe now nicknamed Gimli. This was spotted back then in 2015 December. It was later spotted again December 2016 and March 2017. Then another named Nigel was spotted on a private farm in May 2018 Namibia. Gimli the Ugandan Dwarf Nubian Giraffe was confirmed to be 9 feet, 4 inches and the Angolan giraffe Nigel is 8 feet.

They are known to have rather a very bizarre skeletal dysplasia which are rarely seen on any wildlife safari or Uganda Wildlife safari tour. At first sight of these Dwarf Nubian giraffes, you might think someone got the head of the Giraffe and placed it onto the horse’s neck.

The researchers mention that it will be hard for these two Dwarf Nubian Giraffes to find mates since both are males. There are about 111,000 in the whole world estimated by The Giraffe Conservation Foundation. These giraffes are under going through a silent extinction so we need to cherish the few we have and take of them more.

Now again this was confirmed by a Ugandan expert Dr. Aruho Robert a veterinary expert that works with Uganda Wildlife Authority. (UWA) The discovery stemed from a bunch of researchers who randomly came across this Dwarf Nubian Giraffe.
