Kampala Uganda tours it safe for visiting

Firstly , since we are still experiencing COVID 19 across the world , it is one of the major concerns to travelers because everyone wants to be safe . In order to make sure that travelers are safe , different measures were put into place by the  Travel Restrictions and Advisory Board. When the international travel restrictions were lifted , measures  like having a COVID test 72 hours before one’s travel ,allowing only a single flight per carrier except for the national carrier (Uganda Airlines) that can fly three times a day, wearing a face mask , having your temperature tested before entering any place and  Sanitizing have been put in place .On arrival, tourists and business visitors will need to provide a negative PCR COVID-19 test dated no more than 72 hours before their arrival into Uganda. Outbound travelers will also be required to take a certified PCR COVID-19 test no more than 72 hours before departure. If you don’t have one you take one at a recommended hospital in Entebbe or Kampala before your flight at your cost ($50) and because of this Uganda has been recognized as one of the top countries around the world to have tried to control  the COVID 19  pandemic successfully. Uganda has a COVID death rate that is really low and yet decreasing over time and this is pretty good according to international observer. As per now these are the travel restrictions but they can change anytime .This is therefore an assurance that you are guaranteed perfect health when you travel to Uganda. In other words Uganda is safe for Visiting Visit Uganda now Gracious tours and travel is ready to handle you and show you the pearl of Africa

Away from the coronavirus , there was an outbreak of yellow fever in northern Uganda in 2010. In 2008, there was an Ebola outbreak in western Uganda. Outbreaks of black plague have been experienced in the west of Nile River. We all are aware of the Covid-19 pandemic around the world, Uganda is no exception. Malaria is high risk in most areas and during the rainy season apart from high altitude mountains over 2,000m. Management of these outbreaks by the government has been impressive over the years and deaths concerning such diseases are rare , however this should not limit you from taking the necessary vaccinations before making your travel.

Great health services may be limited in the areas you’re visiting (especially in remote country sides) and travelers are advised to travel with their own supplies of prescription and preventive medicine or doctor’s note describing the medication. Most safari lodges have also put in point to have the necessary first aid just incase of an emergency .

In addition ,there are Air Ambulance Services. Serious illnesses and injuries often require travelers to be medically evacuated from Uganda to a location where adequate medical attention is available. Such medevac services are available locally but can be very expensive and are generally available only to travelers who either have travel insurance that covers medevac services or who are able to pay in advance the considerable cost of such services (often in excess of 40,000 USD). The State Department strongly urges US citizens to consult their medical insurance company prior to traveling abroad to determine whether the policy applies overseas and whether it covers emergency expenses such as a medical evacuation.

Uganda’s climate is one of the best in Africa and this will definitely make your stay in Uganda a non problematic one . Uganda’s capital, Kampala , covers the latitude and longitude denominations of 0°19 N and 32°25 E respectively. Uganda’s latitude and longitude denominations provides it with a climate that is typically tropical. Uganda has a warm tropical climate with temperatures falling in the 25–29°C (77–84°F) range on an average. The months from December to February are the hottest, but even during this season the evenings can be chilly with temperatures in the 17–18°C (63–64°F) range.

Besides the  perfect climate and disruptions caused by COVID 19, Uganda is a secure and safe place to visit. (Don’t miss out on the amazing Uganda Tours) . Of course there are various questions that come to your mind concerning safety as you plan your travel to Uganda , and that is okay because it’s better safe than sorry. Not only that , it’s  expected for a visitor to be anxious about traveling to an unfamiliar place. Uganda is a popular tourist destination with thousands of travelers visiting every year , safely! The largest international threat in Uganda is Al-Shabaab and Al-Qaida. These terror cells have in the past attacked Uganda in 2010. The attacks were linked to Uganda’s presence in Somalia as part of an African Union peacekeeping mission (AMISOM). The increased capacity to deal with them including security checks and continued victories on the battlefield in Somalia and around the world have diminished the capabilities of these groups to conduct attacks. There are also threats from regional terror organizations that pose risk at Uganda borders are rebel groups like ADF who operate in eastern DRC and Southern Sudan rebel groups. The Government of Uganda remains vigilant for threats of these groups. Offensive military action and increased border patrol have minimized attacks and flow of illicit trade and immigration. Uganda, however, is considered a safe, secure and politically stable country though you should remain vigilant to minimize the risk of attacks.

Crime threats, like all other countries in the world, are present but can be avoided when you observe caution. Uganda is a very safe country, but opportunistic crimes such as petty theft, credit card fraud and home robbery do occur , just like any other country. Chances of being a victim is rare and incidences would most probably be in cities like Kampala but even at the moment , safety and security have greatly improved . When in public places, please be vigilant and cautious by avoiding drawing too much attention to yourself and being less susceptible to pick-pockets.

The Uganda People’s Defence Force (UPDF) attempt to deter crime has been increasingly successful with regular patrols and placement of their forces in strategic locations. The police presence is noticeable everywhere with security at the airport and borders, and police in public places. Across Uganda’s National Parks and tourist destinations, the tourism police, park rangers, military army and hotel/lodge security personnel are all present to ensure your safety.

Political violence, strikes, demonstrations can surface sporadically without warning. Though demonstrations are more often controlled, they can be at times confrontational and violent. It is advisable to avoid crowds and demonstrations. Following local media updates will help you remain vigilant during these situations and you can easily avoid any situation that can put you at risk.

The traffic and road safety of Uganda is safe .There are reported traffic fatalities but these can be avoided when you observe and follow traffic rules. However, when driving on Ugandan roads, you will encounter careless drivers, pedestrians walking in the road, livestock in the roadway, poorly maintained vehicles (lack brake/indicator lights), poor road conditions, lack or non-functional traffic lights and poorly lit roads. Driving during the day is considered safer but the varying conditions on the road condition and careless drivers can still be fatal. If you are driving in Uganda, please exercise all defensive driving skills to ensure your safety and the safety of other road users at all time. The police enforcement of traffic laws is minimal but there has been an improvement.

Disasters and Environmental Hazards Rapid-onset disasters can range from short-term food security crises to flash floods, infectious disease outbreaks, and political crisis/conflict situations. Slow-onset disasters stem primarily from food insecurity due to drought with a number of other factors contributing to root causes. Most communities in northern Uganda recently readjusted to normalcy following 23 years of insurgency at the hands of the LRA. The vast majority of people in northern Uganda live in rural areas and are engaged primarily in subsistence-based livelihoods, living largely at the mercy of the production capacity of the land and the vicissitudes of the weather.

For most of the year, these households have little or no cash to purchase food or other essentials from the market, nor do they have any assets to sell to smooth consumption. They typically cultivate very small plots of land, and own very few livestock. In December 2010, there was an outbreak of yellow fever in a handful of northern districts. In September 2008, there was an Ebola outbreak in the western district of Bundibugyo, while northern districts located west of the Nile River have experienced various outbreaks of the black plague. Government management of these outbreaks has been impressive over that last year but travelers should be aware of the heightened threat posed by infectious disease in Uganda.

In conclusion, Uganda is a fabulous place to visit with most of the National parks and attractions isolated far away from Corona virus incubation centers. All hotels and safaris lodges have been well prepared to welcome visitors after more than six months of shutting down business. Everyone is watching out for the traveler’s safety to be able to work again. So start planning your safari trip with Gracious Tours in order to travel with confidence. The question, is Uganda safe for Visiting? shouldn’t keep you awake in here, I have given conclusive reasons as to why it is safe.

Uganda is considered one of the safest countries found in Africa as a continent. I won’t just say the country is safe but the country is stable.

In Uganda security is given priority, this has been emulated again in the 2019/2020 Budget, where security takes a large sum of money.

Many worry when it comes to politics in the African countries but Uganda has proven to have peaceful protests and democratic elections, the country’s politics is yielding more growth. A number of political issues arise from the opposition parties but the incumbent party creates a negotiating table for all of these to settle.

National Parks and Game reserves Security

While in the park, tourists are availed with trained and armed rangers to protect them while on a safari. In national parks guides know very well areas with a ban, non-go areas, these guides are well trained and know all the safety measures and security drills.

The 4-wheel Land cruisers used on a safari a designed in a way of offering maximum security to people inside.

While in the park’s rules have been set for visitors to follow, please listen and read them carefully. Remember not to move freely while in the park since animals are around to move freely. An important tip to note always ask your safari agent whenever in confusion or in mess, seek for guidance.

Health

Similarly, Uganda’s health services have greatly improved to date, the country can confidently take charge of all famous killer disease outbreaks that is to say Cholera, Ebola, Malaria and Rift Valley Fever. However, before you come into Uganda a yellow fever vaccination is also required, this is to be done a few weeks away from your travel. Addedly, we also advise you take a malaria preventive medication before you come to Uganda. Some tourists prefer moving with Mosquito repellants.

Community

Uganda’s hospitality ranks number one in Africa. Ugandans are very friendly people, they are so welcoming and ready to teach and take you through their cultural norms. Just remember to always ask your safari guide to teach you basic phrases in local languages like thank you, how much, how are you?, good morning, What is your name? But most important of all be also friendly.

City and town centers

Currently, the Government installed security cameras in all city centers and town centers. This 24-hour security has hiked Uganda’s security, doubling the safety. so the question Is Uganda safe for Visiting? is definitely answered.

However, while in cities as any other new town don’t navigate around on your take a local guide to show you around. Don’t on your own too however Ugandan towns and cities are full of fun as for the town is awake throughout the night.
