Day 2 of best of Uganda Primates Safari : Birding-Mabamba swamp
After an early morning breakfast, with your packed lunch, you will start birding towards Mabamba swamp to encounter a variety of bird species that may include; the African and Lesser Jacana, White-breasted, Blue-breast and Little Bee-eaters, Purple Swamphen, Lesser Moorhen, Malachite and Pied Kingfishers, Black-headed, Grey and Purple Heron, Long-toed Lapwing, Yellow-billed and White-backed Duck, African Marsh Harrier, Weyns’s Weaver, Blue Swallow and Red-headed among others. After that You reach the swamp and take a canoe to the swamp in search for the rear Shoe billed stork. Along with the Shoebill, you are likely to encounter the orange weavers, Malachite King Fisher, African and Lesser Jacana, Purple Heron, Purple Swamphen, Black Crake, Weyns’s and Orange weavers among others. Day 3 of best of Uganda Primates Safari : Kampala -kibale forest national park
After breakfast transfer to Kibale Forest National Park, this fascinating drive takes you through papyrus swamps and thick jungle towards the Kibale Forest which is neatly tucked on the floor of the Rwenzori Mountains. On your arrival at the park, you will have lunch thereafter visit the scenic crater lakes region and get chance to check out the terraced tea states. Later on, proceed back to the lodge to relax for the evening and enjoy your dinner. Meal plan (F/B)

Day 4 of best of Uganda Primates Safari : chimp tracking and birding-Kibale national park
After breakfast, you will proceed and assemble at the chimp tracking briefing ground, where we will learn all the required procedures. It is not strenuous, but can sometimes take longer depending on our luck. Lunch will be organized according to the trend of the day’s activities, either picnic lunch or a hot menu lunch. Kibale Conservation Area holds a good list of both special primates and birds. These include Chimpanzee, Red Colobus Monkey, Grey-cheeked Mangabeys, Red-tailed Monkey and Galagos. The forest is also home to the Scaly Francolin, Marsh Tchagra, Black-bellied Seedcracker, Green-backed Twinspot, Bicoloured Mannikin, White-naped Pigeon, Afep Pigeon, Narina’s Trogon, Joyful Greenbul, Olive Long-tailed Cuckoo, Black Bee-eater, Blue-headed Coucal, Blue-breasted Kingfisher, Scaly-throated Honeyguide and Black-faced Rufous Warbler. Day5: Kibale forest national park- Queen Elizabeth national park
After your morning breakfast, transfer from Kibale to queen Elizabeth national park. On arrival, you will have a Safari Game drive where you will see the lion, leopard, giant forest hog, Cape buffalo, elephant, defassa waterbuck, Uganda Kob, topi and bushbuck among others. You will return to your lodge for lunch and in the afternoon go for a boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel. It is a 42kms channel that joins Lake Edward and Lake George. This trip passes through possibly the highest concentration of hippos and offers an excellent platform for photography, bird watching and game viewing. The prolific bird life is colorful, with well over 550 resident species like black bee eater, greater flamingo, martial eagle. Later return to the lodge for dinner and overnight. Meal plan (H/B)

Day 6: primate walk-game drive-birding -Queen Elizabeth
With previous day’s memories, enjoy your breakfast ready for guided Chimpanzee/primate walk along Kyambura Gorge to look for habituated chimps through the gorge. After primate walk, proceed to Ishasha. You will drive along the deep and wide dry craters that are occupied by savanna grasses and acacia. The drive takes you through the unique western rift valley escarpment and the Ishasha sector where you will take on yet another game drive in search of tree climbing lions and also lookout for bird species like crocking cisticola, honey bizzard, woodpecker before proceeding to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Day7: Gorilla tracking and birding-Bwindi impenetrable national park
After breakfast set off early with guides to track gorillas in Bwindi. Bring your packed lunch, jungle boots and rain jackets because the park is often wet. Spend time in awe watching the gorillas go about their activities. Each gorilla safari encounter is different and has its own rewards, but you are likely to enjoy the close view of adults feeding, grooming and resting as the youngster’s frolic and swing from vines delightfully. You will also encounter bird species like the White bellied, Red-caped and Blue-shouldered Robin Chat, Bar- tailed Tragon, Red Chested Owlet, Neumann’s and Black-faced Rufous Warbler, White Tailed Flycatcher, Olive Long –tailed Cuckoo, Pale breasted Illadopsis, Red-throated and Fire-crested Alethes, Collared, Yellow-breasted and Black-throated Apalis, Baglafecht, Yellow-mantled, Black-billed and Brown-caped Weavers, Narrow-tailed and Stuhlmann’s Starlings,the Bat Hawk among others. later You come back to the lodge for dinner and overnight. Day8: Bwindi-lake Bunyonyi (birding)
Today after breakfast, with your packed lunch, you will start birding as you transfer to Lake Bunyonyi and you will be looking out for species that may include; the Cinnamon Bracken Warbler, White-browed Crombec, White-starred and Forest Robin, Yellow Bishop, Streaky Seed-eater, Cinnamon-chested Bee-eater, Handsome Francolin, White-napped Raven, Black-headed Waxbill, White-headed Wood-hoopoe, Mountain and Augur Buzard, Winding and Chubb’s Cisticola, African Crowned Eagle, Dwarf Honeyguide, Rock Martin, Grey-throated Barbet and Ludher’s Bush-shrike among others. We arrive at Lake Bunyonyi in the afternoon and check in to the lodge for dinner and overnight. Meal plan (H/B)

Day9: Lake Bunyonyi – birding to Lake Mburo National Park. After breakfast, we start birding as we transfer to Lake Mburo national park, passing through the rolling hills of Kabale and Mbarara, with a lunch stopover at the Agip Motel, Mbarara. Some of the key species on this route are the White-winged Warble, Papyrus Yellow Warbler and Papyrus Canary at Omugyenyi bridge. We arrive at Lake Mburo national park in the evening dinner and overnight at the reserved lodge. Meal plan (F/B)

Day 10: Game drive-boat cruise-birding-lake mburo national park
Have early breakfast, thereafter set off to a morning game drive and birding with our packed lunch in one of the smallest national parks in Uganda. We will also go for the boat cruise on Lake Mburo and some of the specialties that we expect to encounter here in the afternoon today include; Emerald-spotted Wood-Dove, Brown-chested Lapwing, White-headed, Red-faced Spot-flanked and Crested Barbet, Trilling and Tabora Cisticola, Coqui Francolin, Chin-spot Batis, Lead-colored Flycatcher, Scaly-throated Honeyguide, White-winged Tit, Black-crowned and White-backed Night-Heron, Rufous-belied and Striated Herons, African Fin foot, Papyrus Gonolek, Miombo Wren Warbler, Papyrus Yellow Warbler, Red-rumped Swallow, Yellow-breasted Apalis, African Water-rail, Golden-tailed, Bearded Woodpecker and Red-headed Weaver among others.
