Itinerary

Day 1: Kampala -Murchison Falls National Park

Depart Kampala for Murchison Falls National Park. On your way, check out the Ziwa sanctuary for rhino trekking and lunch. A visit to the top of the falls. Go to the Top of the falls, such a lovely scene for viewing the fall and having picnics. Day 2: Game drive & Launch cruise in Murchison Falls

 

Set off for an early game view drive on the North of the Nile.  Check out lions, buffaloes, waterbuck, Jackson’s hartebeest, oribi and baboons are some of the animals you will spot. In next to no time, take a launch cruise on the Victoria Nile River. Spot schools of hippos, large crocodiles, small herds of buffalo. Day 3: Murchison Falls- Kibale Forest

Today is dedicated for a long drive to Kibale forest national park with lunch enroute in Hoima. Enjoy the drive through the rural setting and country side homes meting local communities with great sightseeing and photography. Day 4: Chimpanzee tracking Kibale

Awaken to a fine day ready to track chimps near Kanyanchu after enjoying tea. There are primate checked mangabey, red colobus, blue monkeys and pottos. Other animals involve forest elephants unique from the common type, giant forest hogs and a striking tree species. Later take a guided nature walk to Bigodi swamp sanctuary, a good site for ornithologists. Day 5: Kibale – Queen Elizabeth National Park

After an early breakfast, proceed to Queen Elizabeth N.P.  Carry out a game drive in the Mweya Peninsular that has a magnificent location of the Rwenzori glacial peaks.  Check out Lake Katwe and other small crater lakes. Overnight stay at Mweya Safari Lodge/Mazike Lodge (Lodge facility) or Enganzi lodge (Mid range facility) or Simba Safari Camp (Budget facility) Meal plan (F/B)

Day 6: Game drive/ launch cruise

After a cup of coffee, start the day with a game drive in the Kasenyi plains that will lead you to see black and white Colobus, bush buck, Uganda Kob, topi, Defassa waterbuck, and Cape buffaloes. A range of birds like Cassin’s grey flycatcher, broad billed roller, black bee-eater along the banks of Lake Edward. This can take you 2-3 hrs. In the evening, go for a launch cruise on Kazinga channel along lake George-lake Edward, come eye-eye with yawning hippos, crocodiles, leopards though sporadic.  Watch birds for birders with over 550 resident species like flamingos, red chest, papyrus Gonolek, pink backed pelicans, malachite kingfishers, yellow crown, pink backed pelicans, water thick-knee, yellow-billed stork, shoebill stock. Day 7: Chimp tracking in Kyambura-Kampala/Entebbe

This morning take your breakfast then head straight for chimpanzee trekking in Kyambura Gorge at exactly 8:00am. Did you know that chimps are our closest relatives? They act like humans so do spend an hour them to learn more.  There are more diverse primates mainly Black and white Colobus monkeys and other animals like antelopes, hyenas in the middle of savanna grassland. This gorge has many bird species. After lunch, retrace your way back to Kampala though bring to a halt at Masaka at the equator for a last glimpse at the equator before being transferred to the airport for your flight back home.
