3 Days Rwanda Wildlife Safari to Akagera National park is above all, big game country! Herds of elephant and buffalo emerge from the woodland to drink at the lakes, while lucky visitors might stumble across a spotted hyena or even a stray lion. Giraffe and zebra amble through the savannah, and more than a dozen types of antelope inhabit the park, most commonly the handsome chestnut-coated impala, but also the diminutive oribi and secretive bushbuck, as well as the ungainly tsessebe and the world’s largest antelope, the statuesque cape eland. Day 1: Arrival Kigali – Akagera National Park
You will be picked from the airport upon arrival and then drive to Akagera National Park. Time permitting ready to take on a Kigali City Tour for the Genocide Memorial centre. we head to the impressive Akagera National Park, comprised of a blend of wetland, savannah grassland and woodland. The location of the park shows that it lies at a lower altitude as compared to rest of the country, therefore meaning that it is not only warmer but drier. Some of the wildlife you will see here include: Giraffes, Buffaloes and Elephants as well as a profusion of birds. If fortunate, we may be able to sight the Shoebill Stork, especially around the shores of the lakes. Day 2 of the 3 days Rwanda wildlife safari : Game drive & Boat ride
Have breakfast and then go for a game drive where you may spot various wild animals. Return to the lodge for lunch. In the afternoon you will go for a boat ride on Lake Ihema. Day 3 of the 3 days Rwanda wildlife safari: Akagera National Park –Kigali Departure.
Have breakfast and drive back to Kigali, in case you missed the opportunity of having a City tour on the first day , you then go for a city tour, visit the museum, the genocide memorial, site and other cultural sites time permitting with lunch of the day .
