Your 17 Days kidepo – Uganda safari will start from the remote Kidepo Valley National Park in the far North East, then to the North and proceed to the far south west and end with western Uganda. This Uganda safari includes game drives, boat trips, gorilla tracking, chimpanzee tracking, nature walks, horseback safaris, and rhino tracking as the main activities to be undertaken.
Day 1: Pick up from the airport to your hotel.
You will be picked by our representative from the airport and transferred to a hotel or guest in either Kampala or Entebbe for an overnight stay.
Day 2: Drive to Gulu for an overnight stay
Embark on your 17 Days kidepo – Uganda safari by driving to Gulu for an overnight stay and to cut the long journey to kidepo short.Possible activities for today are visiting karuma falls, local communities and markets.

Day 3: Transfer to Kidepo Valley National Park
After breakfast, drive through the Karamojong manyattas (villages) to Kidepo Valley National Park for an evening game drive through the kidepo valley to the kanangorok hot springs and watch the sun set.
Accommodation: Apoka Safari Lodge (luxury), Nga’moru Wilderness Camp (Midrange) or Apoka Rest Camp (Budget).

Day 4: Game drive and a visit to the Karamojong manyattas.
This park has unspoiled wilderness which will give you the best game drives in the Narus valley where you will spot herds of buffaloes, Jackson’s hartebeest, giraffes, maneless zebras, reedbucks, lions, leopard as well as cheetahs and black-backed jackals.
Visit the Karamojong mayattas in the afternoon to experience their cultures.

Day 5: Hiking to the IK people
After breakfast, drive to the base of Morungole ranges with packed lunch to start your hike to the IK people. Then Drive to Murchison Falls and check in at Murchison River Lodge.

Day 6: Drive to Murchison Falls National Park
You will set off for an early game drive on the North of the Nile. Check out lions, Buffaloes, waterbuck, Jackson’s hartebeest, oribi and baboons are some of the animals you will spot. Then you will take a launch cruise on the Victoria Nile River. Spot schools of hippos, large crocodiles, small herds of buffalo. There is rich birdlife on the papyrus banks, watch out for the shoebill stork, the most sought bird in Africa. Meals and overnight stay at Murchison River Lodge.

Day 7: Hike to the top of the falls and drive to Hoima
After breakfast you will hike to the top of the falls which is a perfect platform for photography and viewing the breath taking Murchison falls.
At the top of the falls, watch the entire Nile River squeeze itself into a 7 meter gorge entire and falls 45 meters into a plunge pool. Drive to Hoima in the afternoon for an overnight stay on your way to Kibale National Park.

Day 8: Drive to Kibale National Park
Drive to Kibale national park after breakfast and stop in fort portal for lunch and then proceed to the park check in your lodge, rest a bit and then go for a night walk.
During this walk, you will see nocturnal animals like pottos, bush babies and other animals. Kibale National Park is known as the primate capital of the world because the highest concentration of primates in the world with chimpanzees topping the list.
The park is also home to other 12 primate species such black and white colobus monkeys, red tailed monkeys, olive baboons among others.
This enchanted forest also harbors a variety of bird, butterfly, plant and mammal species like buffaloes, warthogs, giant forest hog, and elephants among others.

Day 9: Chimpanzee tracking and Bigodi swamp walk
Early in the morning, drive to the park’s headquarters to meet your guides and be briefed about the day’s activity which is chimpanzee tracking.
A walk through the forest will give you a chance to spend an hour with the chimpanzees and also the other different forest natives like birds, butterflies, plants, mammals as well as other primate species like black and white colobus monkeys, red tailed monkeys, and olive baboons among other.
Have lunch at your lodge and after some resting, you head to the Bigodi wetland sanctuary for a swamp walk. The beautiful scenery and amazing birdlife of the swamp will leave you in awe.

Day 10: Queen Elizabeth National Park
After breakfast, drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park as you enjoy the beautiful views of the Rwenzori mountains.
You will stop at the equator to take photographs and then proceed to the park and arrive in time for lunch. After lunch, go for a boat cruise to the Kazinga channel which will be a platform for you to view ant take photographs of the many birds, hippos, elephants, crocodiles at the channel.

Day 11: Morning game drive and afternoon game drive in Ishasha
Have an early morning game drive in the park and in the afternoon drive to the southern sector of the park in Ishasha where you will have a game drive as you search for the tree climbing lions.
Also expect to see Topis that are only common in Ishasha.

Day 12: Ishasha to Bwindi Impenetrable National park
Have an early morning game drive in Ishasha and then drive through interesting villages and beautiful sceneries to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
Bwindi Impenetrable forest is notably known for the many numbers of gorillas inhabiting it. It is also the only place where Gorillas co-exist with chimpanzees.
Arrive in Bwindi check in your lodge and rest a bit. Thereafter have a walk through the forest to visit the Batwa where you will spend the evening with them and get entertained by their traditional dance. Return to the lodge for supper and preparation for tomorrow’s activity.

Day 13: Gorilla Tracking!
Drive to the park headquarters for briefing and then proceed to the park with your ranger guides and packed lunch to search for fascinating and endangered mountain Gorilla.
You will have memorable and wonderful experience as you spend one hour with man’s closest relatives watching them go about their daily activities, playing and feeding.

Day 14: Bwindi to Lake Bunyonyi

Lake Mburo and Kidepo valley National Parks are the only parks where you can see zebras in Uganda.
